D-ALPHA - What is it?
Natural forms of VITAMIN E are derived from soybean or wheatgerm oil, which include d-alpha-tocopherol, d-alpha-tocopheryl acetate and d-alpha-tocopheryl succinate. The synthetic forms are manufactured from purified petroleum oil. These include dl-alpha-tocopherol, dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate and dl-alpha-tocopheryl succinate. Natural VITAMIN E supplements appear to offer the most beneficial effects, with the alpha tocopherol being the most abundant and active form.
