Well folks,
its BFTO time again! This time its part 9! 7 hours and 12 minutes!
First I’m going to through each featured athlete and then
tell you want I think over all.
First
up
Richard Jones. I was extremely impressed with Mr. Jones. I wasn’t
much of a fan until this DVD. After all Richard comes across as
somewhat small in the mags; and how hardcore can you be if you
look “pretty.” Well Richard is completely awesome!
Anyone who says he doesn’t have a future is dead wrong.
Plus the guy can pound the weights. But its his physique that’s
amazingly impressive, timeless and classic. Not mention he is
extremely humble! He does a shoulder workout and a lot of posing.
Despite his showing at the O, Richard appeared very ripped and
conditioned. Thumbs up to Richard. Look for big things to come
from him in the future.
Jay Cutler.
HUGE! 281-285 pounds 3 weeks out. We watch Jay go throw a back
and bicep workout. Jay is impressively strong and BIG! Wide back,
great legs, the usual for Jay. It’s the longest of all athletes
segments at 42 minutes. Great posing and did I mention he is HUGE!
Kris Dim.
Kris is a personal favorite of mine. I love how big his upper
body looks and how tiny his waist is. He trains his back, and
its his usual fare of high volume. His posing in the gym displays
an awesomely conditioned physique.
Troy Alves.
Shoulders and Biceps. And Mouth! Boy can this guy go on and on.
He looks great though, although his workouts are somewhat slow
paced. He does display good conditioning once again.
Johnnie O
Jackson. Back. Deadlifts up to 495, and an endless set of chins.
In fact Johnnies does chins so effortlessly that you wonder if
he will ever stop doing them. Good high intense workout, but Johnnie
in this segment is at a lower bodyweight and appears somewhat
small compared to others.
Ronnie Coleman.
Uh, what can I say about the current Mr. O? How about HOLY shite!!
I mean this man is nothing short of amazing! He blows everyone
away. He goes through a back workout, 405lbs bent rows and 450lbs
t-bar rows, 200lbs dumbbell rows. This dvd really shows you why
Ronnie has a home gym. Ronnie trains at Metroflex once again,
but has a small audience watching his every move. Then again if
I had a chance to watch King Kong workout I would too. Ronnie
really does make all others look like little boys. I can’t
see how anyone could think of beating Ronnie. The best analogy
I can think of is going to a city championship and comparing the
winner to the IFBB pro guest poser. Ronnie is that far ahead of
the pack!
Cloude Groulx.
Shoulders. Claude presents his usual conditioned physique, but
it does look like his age is catching up with him. Not as big
or as ripped in the past, Claude still impresses with his legs
and calves and conditioning.
Disc
2
Darrem Charles. Mits loves to film his on the road travels between
featured athletes. Here we see a nerve racking trip on the Florida
highway, which is pretty funny. When we get to Darrem’s
gym he has already started into his workout. Delts. Darrem again
presents his usual conditioned physique and great proportions.
Darrem’s work ethic never fails to amaze me. Super hard
working. Great physique.
Ahmad Haider.
Chest and triceps. Ahmad’s physique in my opinion is perfect.
Perfectly proportioned and ripped too. Ahmed is strong as well,
315lbs inclines (remember he only weighs around 220-230). Ahmad
has an awesome physique close up. His upper back shows great thickness
and his proportions speak for themselves. Great separation and
conditioning. However he does come across as somewhat small.
Craig Richardson.
Chest and triceps. Craig’s segment is much like a few others.
His physique is somewhat small compared to the likes of coleman
and cutler, but then again who else can compare? Craig does train
at Diamond gym, and lifts some pretty impressive weights.
Victor Martinez.
Shoulders. Great workout, although somewhat slow paced. Boy I
wish he was this personable in his own dvd. He plays it up to
the camera for mits, but kinda moped around on his own dvd. That’s
a shame, because he came across as a fun guy. The tour of his
now defunct gym was funny and entertaining.
Dexter Jackson.
Chest. Dex has picked up the torch that Kevin Leverone left behind.
Dex is a freak! Triceps are huge! Delts are huge! Quads are huge!
Abs are crazy! Dexter is a true freak!
Dennis James.
Chest. 315 smith machine presses and a bunch of specialized machine
work only golds in Venice is known for. In my opinion Dennis is
the greatest Gym bodybuilder to ever live. I don’t know
why he impresses so much in the gym, but drops off a little when
he hits the stage. I think it has to do with his blocky mid section.
But DAMN! The man is huge and incredibly impressive. I love watching
him train! Huge and freaky back!!!! Delts arms chest, freaky legs
you name it!!!!
Gunter. Arms.
Well Gunter is big and his arms do look good. His physique is
maturing but he still hasn’t captured his conditioning from
2002. But when he does he will impress even more. I have every
BFTO, and its neat to watch an athlete like Gunter and his yearly
progression.
Athletes
meeting. Mits walks around saying hi to the guys, but then gets
told the athletes meeting won’t allow press.
Mustafa and
Pavol in the Gym. Well Mustafa is in good conditioning. A little
small in comparison to his Arnold showing, but more ripped. Pavol
was in incredible condition. Not much in the way of training (except
for Mustafa who trained his delts). Mostly just posing.
Press Conference.
Well for the exception of the lousy exchanges between Bob chick
and Joe Amato it was a great press conference. But these guys
need to be more like boxing or wrestling. The Press conference
can really being exciting if they did more then just sit around
and say nothing. Ronnie and Gunter did a lot of trash talking
and then of course they posed down, which was cool.
Now this
is the longest bodybuilding dvd to my knowledge. Awesome quality.
But the segments might be too long. Some come across as boring.
And let me say it aint the 90’s anymore. The first BFTO
(96) had Cormier, Nasser, Dillet, Leverone, Wheeler, Ray, Coleman,
Yates, Baker, ect. You just don’t see that plethora of talent
anymore. I mean the total number of pro wins between those guys
is close to 85!
Then again
I might just be suffering from DVD over saturation. I basically
have every dvd on the market, and watching segments of Jay and
Kris Dim ect, is getting a little redundant. The First couple
of BFTO’s showed something we never saw before, now its
getting stale.
But Mits
does an awesome job, and for $40.00 you can’t pass this
up.
I don’t
think its the best BFTO, but that’s not Mits fault.
I give it
a 4 out of 5 |
